Barrister Efosa F. Ogieriakhi is a Berlin-based legal practitioner whose life and career embody dedication to education, justice, and service to both his homeland and the diaspora. Born in Benin City, he began his early education at St. Stephen’s (now Ogboe Primary School) before progressing to Edo College. He later worked with Guinness in Benin City, gaining early professional experience.
Efosa pursued International Relations at the University of La Verne, California, Athens Campus in Greece, where he studied for three semesters, before turning to law. He earned his law degree from the University of Bremen in Germany, followed by legal training at the High Court of Appeal in Hamm and additional practice in a Bremen law chamber. Since 2004, he has operated his own legal practice, relocating it to Berlin in 2012.
Beyond his professional career, Efosa has been intensely active in community and diaspora affairs. He pioneered initiatives such as the Diaspora Smart City and rural road projects in Avbiugo/Okogbo, Orhionmwon LGA. He has also served in several leadership roles: president of the German-Nigerian Union, vice-president of Nigerians in Diaspora Organisation (NIDO) Germany, legal adviser and later chairman of NIDOE, and president of Edo’s in Diaspora Worldwide.
A committed Catholic, Efosa is an executive member of St. Maria Catholic Church in Berlin. He has represented the Oba Palace pro bono, championed campaigns for the return of Benin artefacts, and played a critical role in securing residence permits for thousands of Nigerians.
